The farmer's market is an amazing inspiration for design. Who knew? Not me. This summer, my foodie friend invited me to go with her to check out Green City Market in Chicago. Little did I know I would get hooked on the fresh scones and amazing fruits and veggies and keep going back. As I was chowing down on my scone and sipping my coffee on that first morning at the market, I wished I had brought my camera. Call it the daze of Saturday mornings, but I continued to forget my camera until a couple of weekends ago. Luckily I brought it this time because I was needing a new design for an invitation. I took some photos of the amazing colors and textures, and went home to sketch up some ideas.
Here is what I came up with:
To be honest, I had never heard of or seen some of the varieties of vegetables displayed at the farmer's market before...for example, zebra tomatoes. This design was inspired and abstracted from the colors and pattern on the zebra tomato. Check out more photos and designs in my Etsy shop and let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading!
