I just got back from the Renegade Craft Fair which is hands down my favorite street fair in Chicago. Over the years, I have learned that it's better if I go to art festivals by myself. Otherwise, I feel bad for lingering at each and every tent while whoever I am with inevitably ends up bored and disinterested. So this time I attended solo. It was perfect. I could easily dodge in and out of tents avoiding strollers and puppies to get a better view of some amazing hand-made jewelry, screen printed posters, or wheel-thrown pottery all the while thinking to myself "I should try this" or "I could make that"....some day.
The funniest thing that I saw this year was a postcard that said, "put a bike on it...people will shit themselves." I spotted this halfway through the row of tents and decided to see just how true this statement was. Apparently bikes sell...at least to hipsters who live in Chicago.
I'm off to go for a bike ride...

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you MUST have bought me those bicycle plates or bowls, right??!! those things rock. ;)
